Rubycon Part 2 opens on a very haunting note but eventually begins to pick up the pace towards the 5th minute where the sequencer sounds kick in. It's true that this continuation of the Rubycon Part /5(53).

Dec 04,  · the bass sequence in Rubycon part 1, the middle section, is a just a nice pluck sound on the Moog modular system controlled by one sequencer. he's using one of the first two rows to control the pitch, and the third row is set to 0v on 4 stages but 1v on four consecutive stages and when the rhythm goes from 6/8 to 2/4 he's hitting the "third.

Part Two is structured in a vaguely similar way to Part One, featuring an eerie, discordant solo choir section before the inventive sequencer part complete with hands-on 'playing' of the filter, probably on one of the band's VCS3s.

“Rubycon Part II” From Rubycon () The second side of their finest album begins in the deepest depths, performing miracles as it works its way out of them. Subterranean tonalities pry themselves from their tectonic limitations and charge skyward – timbre becomes a reflexive epigraph. Then the sequencers kick in, more strident than ever.

"Rubycon, Part One", the A-side of the LP, "ebbs and flows through tense washes of echo and Mellotron choirs, as primitive sequencer lines bubble to the surface”. The B-side, "Rubycon, Part Two", "opens in a wonderfully haunted way" before "the synthesizer arpeggios return to drive things along".
